Correctional Officer Charged For Improper Contact With Inmate At Virginia Jail: Sheriff

A Correctional Officer in Virginia will spend some time on the other side of the bars after allegedly having improper contact with an inmate, according to the sheriff's office.

Chadwick Jackson, 60, of King George, an officer at the Rappahannock Regional Jail, is facing charges following the investigation into claims that the 60-year-old had inappropriate contact with a female inmate.

According to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office, at around 10:45 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, deputies were tipped off regarding Jackson's alleged actions. 

"Due to the nature of the allegations, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division responded, (and) as a result of their investigation (Jackson) was taken into custody later that day," officials said.

Jackson was charged with three counts of sexual battery and two counts of carnal knowledge of a prisoner by a correctional officer.

He's being held at the same jail on a $3,000 secured bond.
